about us

Priya Dance academy aims to nurture the next generation of creative minds and spread the joy of dancing . We have been training several students in the Indian classical dance form - Bharatanatyam. Students are given sound training in various aspects of Bharatanatyam with emphasis to the rich tradition of this ancient dance form.

Bharatanatyam is the most prominent dance style originating in South India. Its name, and much of its style and technique, derives from Bharata's Natya Shastra, an ancient handbook on dance and drama.

While the primary genre of instruction is Bharatanatyam, workshops in other dance forms, , music and theatre are included on an as needed basis for a well rounded dance education.
